John R. Gambling is a name that resonates with millions of radio listeners and fans across the world. With a career spanning decades, Gambling has established himself as not only a seasoned broadcaster but also as an iconic figure in the entertainment and social media industries. From his early days in radio, Gambling has captivated audiences with his unique style and engaging personality.

          The son of John A. Gambling and grandson of John B. Gambling, John R. was the third-generation host of the Gambling family's almost nine-decade-long run of the New Yourk morning radio show, Rambling with Gambling. Almost a million New Yorkers started their mornings welcoming Gamblings into their homes. In most of its run, the shaw was entitled Rambling with Gambling, whereas 2008 started its new incarnation simply titled The John Gambling Show. 

          John R. began his radio apprenticeship in 1973, honing his skills at several radio stations, and in 1985 he joined his father on WOR as co-host of Rambling with Gambling, taking over as sole host in 1991 upon John A.'s retirement. He hosted the show from 1991 to 2000 at WOR Radio 710 and moved to WABC radio from 2000 to 2008, returning to WOR's air waves in May 2008. John R. Gambling's retirement on December 20, 2011 ended Gambling family's historic dynasty in radio, an 88 year-long run. From 2014 to 2016, Gambling emerged as a host on AM 970 WNYM.

          John R. has made guest appearances on various talk shows and news programs over the years. With his engaging personality and informative content, he also has amassed a large following on social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, where he continues to connect with his fans. His book, entitled “The Gambling Family: A Radio Legacy,” chronicles his broadcasting experiences and shares insights and engaging stories from his esteemed career.

          He is an advocate for mental health awareness, using his platform to raise awareness, encourage open discussions, and promote resources for those in need. He also uses his influence to support a variety of charitable organizations, and help make a positive impact on his community.

          In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the world of media, John R. Gambling has received the esteemed honor of being inducted into the New York State Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame and also has been recognized with the Marconi Award, the Michael E. DeBakey Journalism Award, and the New York State Associated Press Broadcasters Association Award for Outstanding Public Affairs Program.

          John R. currently resides in Sarasota. He is married and has three sons - none of whom are named John.
