with Michael Christensen

Dr. Michael Christensen Michael received his A.B., with Honors, from Harvard College; an MBA, with high distinction (top 5% of class), from Harvard Business School; an M.S. in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University; and a PhD in Business Administration and Management from Harvard Business School.  He is a Senior Lecturer at the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania) where he teaches two courses, “Strategy and Competitive Advantage” and “Disruptive Strategy” in the MBA and Executive MBA programs. His research focuses on how companies create their strategies and make strategic decisions. His research also examines how firms’ engagement with customers helps drive long-term performance. To explore these topics, Michael utilizes a wide spectrum of methodological approaches ranging from inductive qualitative research to large data econometrics.

In addition to his research, Michael has formerly taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels at both Harvard and Stanford Universities. Prior to his academic career, worked for several prominent consulting firms including Monitor Group (now part of Deloitte), IDEO, and Innosight.  Outside of his professional endeavors, Michael enjoys cooking, running, swimming, and cheering for Boston sports teams (Go Sox!). Michael is also an accomplished musician, having performed in renowned venues including Carnegie Hall (New York), Mission Delores Basilica (San Francisco), Lincoln Cathedral (UK), Jordan Hall (Boston), and many others.
