Neil Brown will lead a discussion on the global state of journalism, the fight against misinformation, and the groundbreaking work of the Poynter Institute - a global nonprofit focused on improving the relevance, ethical practice, and value of journalism through their teaching, publishing, convening, fact-checking, and media literacy enterprises.  

Poynter champions freedom of expression, civil dialogue, and compelling journalism that helps citizens participate in healthy democracies.  The Institute is dedicated to developing journalism's leaders and improving the reliability of journalism and transparency between newsmakers and news consumers, thereby creating a crossroads where communities come together to use journalism to confront society’s complex problems.
